The Tall Ships Races 2012 are coming to Dublin from August 23rd to 26th and there will be lots of fun family activities as part of the events. Some of the highlights include:
  • Archipelago, a fun traditional wooden family games area
  • An Interactive Sea Orchestra with DJ’s, percussionists, Boomwhackers – all leading to a grand finale of ‘Yellow Submarine’
  • Out of the Blue installation of large weaved willow fish and ship sculptures which will sit in Grand Canal Square where children can create elements to add to the installation in daily workships
  • The Barren Carrousel Family Sideshow will dazzle you with backcracking contortions and death defying aerial feats
  • The Lords of Strut Street Show is a high-energy, comic, acrobatic show with break-dancing, contortions, acrobatic ladders, acrobalance and very original comedy
  • Shipwrecked Silent Disco is a fancy dress headphone disco for all the family
  • Opera In The Open presents an exclusive lunchtime performance of Mozart’s masterpiece Cosi Fan Tutti
  • Sea Scapes welcomes a host of vibrant world music acts from ports across the world, featuring Silta, Lukas, Oleku and the Soukous All Stars
  • Haut Debit French brass ensemble will bring their unique fusion of funk, ska and afrobeat to get audiences on their feet
