Teething – how to ease the process

As a parent, one of the most difficult things to watch is your baby in pain. Unfortunately, teething is a natural process that all babies go through, and it can be a painful and uncomfortable experience. However, there are steps you can take to ease your baby's teething pain and help them feel more comfortable.

Give your baby something to chew on: As the teeth start to move under the gums, your baby may feel discomfort and want to chew or bite on things. You can give your baby a teething ring, a chilled washcloth, or a soft toy to chew on. The pressure and sensation of chewing can help to relieve the pain and discomfort. There is a range of products available at the Dunnes Store Baby Event which runs from 16th May to 19th June including:

If your baby is in severe pain, there are over-the-counter pain relievers that you can use, if you’re unsure talk to the chemist and / or GP who can advise you.

Give your baby extra love and attention as teething can be a difficult time for babies, and they may need extra love and attention from you. Spend time cuddling, playing, and soothing your baby to help them feel more comfortable and secure.

Teething can be a challenging and uncomfortable experience for both babies and parents. However, by using these tips and tricks, you can help to ease your baby's teething pain and provide them with the comfort and care they need.
