Mum Paula Brown’s newborn son was so big that the clothes she’d bought wouldn’t fit and she had to get a whole new set in bigger sizes.
After six hours in labour at the Blackburn Birthing Centre, Paula gave birth to baby Theo. The not-so-little one weighed in at a very impressive 12 pounds 4.5 ounces!
Speaking about her exhausting labour, the 33-year-old mum said: ”It was not pleasant and it was hard work and tiring. But the end result of it all is just fantastic”.
Birthing staff were astonished by Theo’s size and told Paula her baby was the biggest one born at the clinic in five years.
Proud new dad Gareth Brown said: “They said it was the biggest baby out of the last 4,500".
The bouncing baby had to stay in hospital for a few days because he developed an infection brought on by jaundice, according to The Metro.

Thankfully, he’s since been released from hospital and is now at the family home in Great Harwood, in Lancashire.
“Everybody is doing fine now, Theo is home and well”, a relieved Gareth explained.
“He’s absolutely brilliant. Our youngest daughter Rose, who is five, just absolutely loves him”, he added.
The couple had been trying to guess what Theo would weigh prior to his birth. Both of their older children were slightly on the larger side at nine pounds three ounces and nine pounds eight ounces respectively.
Theo’s 14-year-old stepsister Milly Mayor, however, only weighed six pounds eleven ounces at birth.

“We were all making guesses at what weight the baby would come in, but nobody was expecting that,” a shocked Gareth explained.
“The midwife cancelled her dentist appointment to make sure she was there for the birth, they hadn’t seen anything like it.
“All of the staff at the birthing centre were absolutely fantastic with us, we can’t thank them enough. Everyone at the Burnley hospital was great as well.
“It was strange, most of the babies there were tiny and Theo was huge”, the overjoyed new dad said.
With the average bub born in the UK weighing in at just over seven pounds, little Theo is almost twice that size.
