French authorities have confirmed that they have found the body of Irish teacher Eimear Noonan in a park in France.

The devastating news was revealed by the 21-year-old woman’s brother Cathal Noonan in an emotional tribute on Facebook.

It is understood that Eimear died when she fell during a run on Wednesday.

Her brother wrote, “French authorities have now confirmed to us the heartbreaking news that our beloved Eimear died following a fall while running on Wednesday.”

He praised his late sister, “Eimear was a warm, bubbly person who had already made a wide circle of friends there through her love of music and singing.”

The young teacher was loved by so many people, “Eimear will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her parents Flan and Mary, her brothers Declan, Michael and Cathal and all her family and friends.”

The family thanked everyone who spread the word about their daughter’s disappearance.

The teacher’s body was found near the town of Annonay in south-eastern France, where she had been living for the past two months.

Last week, social media was flooded with pleas for information on Eimear.

The Irish and French graduate went missing on Wednesday. It is believed her body was found on Friday.

The family has asked the public to respect their privacy as they prepare to bring her home to Co. Clare. Cathal shared, “We now appeal for privacy in this most difficult time as we bring Eimear home to her beloved Lough Graney and start the journey of grieving.”

Our thoughts are with Eimear’s family and friends during this harrowing time.
