Is it teething time for your little one?

You might not have known, but there is a right and wrong to brush your hair! And something that seems so simple and easy to do can actually be a little trickier than you may think.

Here are five things you should bear in mind when combing, brushing or styling your hair.

1. Finger comb after the shower

Avoid brushing your hair when it is wet so use your fingers after the shower and then brush it once it is dry.

2. Don’t yank a comb through it

If there is a knot in your hair don’t yank a brush through it until it is detangled. Instead, pull it apart with a wide-tooth comb and use a leave-in conditioner to smooth it out.

3. Protect your hair

Every now and again use a serum on your hair before you go anywhere near it with a brush. This will give your hair much needed support and shine.

4. Work from the middle down

Don’t brush your hair from the top down; work from the bottom up. This way you won’t end up with knots in the middle which can cause intense damage.

5. Work in sections

Don’t just brush your hair in random places, instead pull it into sections and work through each one separately.
