For the fifth year in a row, the Great Irish Food Quiz, is back, and once again all the proceeds will go directly to Down Syndrome Ireland.

Last year, in just a few short hours of fun and fierce competition, Aine Maguire’s annual event raised more than €6,000 for the charity.

The four-person teams made up of representatives from the food community, restaurants, hotels, PR Companies, blogging world, chefs and general greedy guts will once again battle it out to be the best.

Bookings are now being accepted with a cost of €100 per team – all of which will go directly to the Down Syndrome Ireland charity. To book and pay for your team visit www.mycharity.ie/event/aine_maguires_event (If you can’t make the quiz, you can still donate directly to the charity via the same link.)

Talking about the forthcoming event, organiser Aine Maguire said: “I look forward to seeing the teams who return year after year, to the ones who win, and the ones who never win but still return, and to seeing new foodie faces too. Tell your friends, this is a great night and a great cause.”

Pat Clarke CEO of Down Syndrome Ireland will attend the event this year to explain how the money raised to date has helped the work of the charity so far, and into the future.

There will be heaps of prizes on the night including a two night Bed & Breakfast stay in a Deluxe Seaview Room in The Cliff House Hotel, Ardmore, Co. Waterford, a €150voucher for Chapter One Restaurant on Dublin’s Parnell Square, dinner for two with bubbles, fine wines and coffee at Artisan Parlour & Grocery in Ringsend Village, a two night stay in a suite in The Twelve Hotel, Galway with a masterclass in wine from General Manager and award winning sommelier Fergus O’Halloran and many, many more prizes.
