Christmas is a very special time for families, and an Irish Christmas is particularly special.

A time of tradition and celebration, of social and family gatherings and homecomings, it allows us to step out of our busy daily lives and reflect on years gone by.

A whirlwind of eating, drinking, making merry and reminding those around us that we care for them through the gifts we exchange, it is one of the most special occasions all year.

The ICA’s Book of Christmas offers tried and tested recipes, practical cheats and short cuts and insight into traditions and customs, including lines from poems and carols.

This is a really wonderful festive book that would make a great little early present for someone far away or even for yourself.

The ICA was founded in May 1910 with the aim to improve the standard of life in rural Ireland through education and co-operative effort.

Today, there are 700 local Guilds throughout the country which offer support and fun for communities all over.
