The perfect Bank Holiday event: You NEED to go to Woolapalooza

The May Bank Holiday weekend is getting closer and we are far too excited by the prospect of another long weekend.

If only weekends were always three days long.

One of the best things about long weekends is the fact that you get to spend more time with your family.

You can’t quite beat heading out on adventures with your little gang and we’ve found the perfect event for you to enjoy over the May Bank Holiday.

Pop by the award winning Airfield Estate, Dundrum on May 5 and 6 for Ireland’s most unique suburban farming festival Woolapalooza. The festival has expanded for 2019 and this year the 38-acre food and farm destination will host an array of events for all the family.

There will be something for everyone at the event including sheep dog trials, sheep shearing, farmyard tours, céilí music, food demos, old fashioned field games, outdoor play areas, house tours, storytelling, free workshops, craft stalls and even a tea cosy competition!

The highlight of the show is always the wonderfully talented 'One man and his dog' champion Denis Birchall and Tweed, the famous sheepdog, who round-up the Airfield herd in the sheepdog trials before bringing them in for their annual salon appointment with Rodney the sheep shearer.

You can enjoy a drool-worthy breakfast or lunch in Overends Kitchen or sip on Airfield milky lattes from the Stables Cafe.

Treat yourself to something sweet from the Airfield Bakery or dine on something delicious from the all-day grill.

There'll be a brilliant display of vintage farmyard machinery including a number of tractors, machines plus much more.
