When the sun comes out so do the smiles, the celebrations and, most importantly, the barbecue! Garden parties and barbecues should be relaxed, enjoyable affairs that don’t put too much pressure on the host or the guest – and your décor should follow the same rules.

If you’re planning a celebration over the coming weeks, there is one classic flower-arranging tip that you need to get in on and share with your friends: colour-tinted water!

Colour-tinted water is the perfect way to take your flower arrangements and bouquets to the next level, whether you just want something a little quirky or you want your blooms to tie in with a specific colour scheme.

All you need to do is add a few drops of food colouring – in your shade of choice – to the water, replace your flowers, and voilá!

This works especially well with mason jar arrangements – it adds a very funky touch. Why not add some coloured stones or a dab of fine glitter to the mix, to make it really special?
