Is it teething time for your little one?

With back to school time looming, now is the time to cram as much family time into the day as possible. August is all about horse racing and with so many racecourses hosting plenty of fun and frolics for all ages, why not take the kids along to one.

1. Curragh, Co. Kildare

When: Sunday, 9th August and Thursday, 13th September

Children's entertainment, including a playground and top class Flat Racing combine at the Curragh Racecourse Family Days. A family package is available for €25, which includes 2 adults and 2 children under 16, and 2 race cards. Children under 16 free when accompanied by a paying adult.


2. Dundalk Stadium, Co. Louth

When: Sunday, 16th August and Sunday, 6th September

Dundalk has a number of family days throughout the year. Most of their afternoon meetings offer facilities & activities for children. Children under 14 free when accompanied by a paying adult.


3. Listowel, Co. Kerry

When: Sunday, 14th September

Listowel Harvest Festival's family-friendly day takes place in September, and is sure to be a great day out. Children under 16 free when accompanied by a paying adult.



4. Roscommon Raccourse, Co. Roscommon

When: Monday, 17th August

With entertainment and games aplenty at Roscommon Racecourse's Annual Family day, it is sure to keep the kids happy. Children under 16 free when accompanied by a paying adult.


5. Tramore Racecourse. Co. Waterford

When: Sunday. 16th August

There will be plenty of fun and games including face painting and a Punch and Judy Klub Mizik performance the kids won’t want to leave! Children under 16 free when accompanied by a paying adult.


6. Wexford Racecourse, Co. Wexford

When: Saturday, 29th August

With plenty of organised children's games, bouncy castles and obstacle courses at the racecourse, this is a great place to spend an afternoon with the kids. Children under 14 free when accompanied by a paying adult.
