It's every parent's nightmare.
Your child hit by a car as he scoots happily home from school.
But now the issue of scooter safety has been raised after a little boy was hit by a car and the footage was captured by a driver's dashcam.
The shocking clip was put up on YouTube by PJGrant88 with the caption: "child crashed scooter into side of Audi - Viewer discretion UK Dash Cam"
It shows a mother and three children crossing the road at an island in the middle. The smallest boy continues scooting right into the path of the oncoming car. The driver swerves to a stop while the mum picks her son up and brings him over to the side of the road. She races back to pick up his scooter.
Meanwhile, the little boy is seen rubbing his arm and crying. The driver jumps out of his car to help while the holds up a hand in what looks like a gesture of apology.
The incident was filmed last month in Southampton and, unbelievably, the child escaped without injury.
But now opinion is divided over who was at fault.
Some are blaming the child's mother for not holding her son's hand while others suggest the driver's responsibility was to react quicker.
What's your take on who is to blame?
