Sometimes getting our kids dressed and out the door in the morning can feel like a battle. Our little ones don't like whatever outfit has been laid out, and the whole situation turns into quite the ordeal (especially before we've had our coffee).

Eva Mendes has managed to side-step that early morning rigamarole entirely by letting her and Ryan Gosling's daughters dress themselves.

Yep, three-year-old Esmeralda and 23-month-old Amada get to choose their own looks!

"Thank God there's no fashion talk. But I let them wear whatever they want," the mum-of-two told E! News at an event dedicated to The Eva Mendes Collection for New York & Company.

While the 44-year-old is a fashion icon in her own right, she's still letting her daughters pave their own sartorial way.

"They have the right… they want to wear jammies all day or if they want to go in a costume to the market, I let them do that stuff," The Other Guys actress revealed.

That also sounds just too adorable for words! We love the whimsy of seeing kids doing everyday activities in fancy dress.

The model also said that she picks her parenting battles carefully.

While she can roll with little ones wearing fairy wings at the grocery store, Eva is gearing up for a bigger task: getting her girls to like veggies.

"I let them win that battle," she said of her daughters' clothes, "That's the easy one. I'm trying to get them to eat broccoli. That's the one I want to win. They can wear whatever they want."

We wish her the best of luck with that one!
