Mum Alison Johnson had a very scary experience that she wants to share with other mums who may have twins or children of similar ages.

Alison is mum to three kids, twins Caleb and Libby, and baby Whitney.

The mum posted her story of how the positioning of her twin cribs unintentionally endangered the life of her son, Caleb, when he was 18 months old.

She explains: “This morning I put Caleb down for his nap. Shortly after he started to cry. After a few minutes, I went in to check on him.”

Alison was horrified by what she saw when she entered the room.

“He had climbed out of his crib and was stuck between his crib and Libby's crib.

The little boy's body fit through the gap, but his head wouldn't.

"He was using every ounce of energy he had to hold himself up by his little arms. If they had given out, he would've just been hanging there by his head.”

Thankfully Alison got there in time to free Caleb but she is very shaken up by the incident still. She was contemplating taking a shower and she knew if she hadn’t heard him crying, he could’ve died.

Alison says: “What's even scarier is that like many moms, I generally use nap time as an opportunity to shower.

"Had I done that today and checked on him after five minutes, he would have literally hung himself.”

She appealed to other parents to share her post so it would urge other parents to check the positioning of their cribs. “When baby proofing, I never in a million years would have seen this as a potential danger", she said.

"Please consider sharing this post in case someone you know may have a similar set up.

“It's incredibly heartbreaking to think of what the outcome could have been today.

I'm still totally shook up over it and don't think the vision of him stuck there will ever leave my head.”

After sharing the awful experience on Facebook, it received over 50K shares by parents wishing to raise awareness.

Poor Alison – what a horrible ordeal for her and little Caleb to go through. We hope that alerting other parents will help her feel better.
