The Central Statistics Office has created the coolest app for baby names in Ireland.

The app lets you find out how popular your name is.

The app also allows people to see what the most popular baby names between the years 1964 and 2016.

The CSO said, "Enter your name and the year of your birth to see how many babies were registered with that name, and how your name ranked in that year.”

It also gives you the option to print out your very own ‘name certificate’. The certificate will share statistics about your own name, such as what year it was most popular.

Parents and parents-to-be have praised the new creation as it will help inspire them when naming their kids.

For those daring parents, there is a ‘find me a name’ function that will randomly select a name for your baby.

Back in the 1960s, the most popular baby names were Mary and John, with 2,857 girls named Mary and over 3,000 boys named John.

Today, Emily is the most popular name for baby girls in Ireland, with James coming out on top for baby boys.

Parents are being more and more daring with baby names, as celebrities have started the quirky names trend.

From Buzz to Apple, there have been some very unique celebrity baby names over the past few years.

We love the sound of this app! You can check it out here.
