Thousands of teachers are set to strike on Tuesday, February 4.
Members of the Teachers' Union will strike over pay parity for new entrants. There are 19,000 members in the union.
TUI President Seamus Lahart stated: “We have exhausted every avenue open to us to bring this matter to resolution and have been left with no choice but to take strike action over the ongoing scandal of pay discrimination.”
TUI stressed that they want equal pay for equal work.
Up to 1,100 education centres will be affected.
