Make-up can be expensive and having bills, school trips, sports activities, and a whole host of other things to spend money on can often push it to the bottom of the “to buy” list.

Thankfully, you can get your make-up to stretch that bit further, saving you money and unnecessary trips to the shops.

Pressed/ loose powder
You don’t need to apply powder everywhere on your face. A little across your T-zone and where your face is shiny is all that you need.

Foundation
Using a brush will help give you full coverage more than you would get with your fingers and will also mean you use less of it. You can also dilute it slightly with a little moisturiser if you don’t want full coverage.

Mascara
Start at the very roots and do zig-zag motions to the tips. This will ensure all your lashes are covered without having to use loads of mascara. Make sure you clean any excess mascara off your wand before starting to avoid any clumps.

Blush
You only need a small amount of blush for a natural look. Start at the apples of your cheeks and work diagonally to your ear and down. Make sure you blend it right.

Lips
You don’t need to wear lipstick every day, simply line them with a nude coloured pencil and cover with a clear balm for work. Leave the expensive lippie for special occasions.
