Tom Daley has been announced as brand ambassador for Pampers, and in doing so becomes one half of the first same-sex couple to front a Pampers campaign.

Tom and his husband, Lance, welcomed their son, Robbie Ray Black-Daley, back in June of this year, and partnering with Pampers seemed like a natural fit for the Olympic swimmer.

"Becoming a parent for the first time has been a wonderful experience and Lance and I are learning something new each day," the 24-year-old said.

"What we’ve known from the start is that we want the best for Robbie and feel it’s important to use baby products that are inspired by nature, gentle on his skin and still do the job at the same time.

"That’s why I’m so pleased to be collaborating with Pampers on the new Pure Protection range. To find a product that protects the purity of my baby’s skin and still performs is fantastic.”

Pampers Pure Protection is the brand’s first-ever nappy and wipes collection made from premium cotton, cellulose and plant-based materials that come from sugarcane, whilst offering the Pampers protection that parents around the world know and trust.

Plus, they are adorned with cute prints, such as llamas, sloths, otters and corgis.

As an athlete, Tom embraces a natural lifestyle and like many parents, feels it is important that the products he uses are kind to his baby’s skin.

"Parents rightfully expect it all, and yet when it comes to the nappies and wipes category, many have been forced to compromise,” said Caroline Gorrie, Pampers UK and Ireland Brand Manager.

"We’re really excited to extend our product offering to provide parents with another trusted option for their babies.

"Pampers Pure Protection is the perfect solution for parents who want kind and gentle products for their baby’s skin, but don’t want to compromise on performance."

Pure Protection nappies feature all of the benefits you expect from using a Pampers nappy: up to 12 hours of dryness to keep baby dry overnight, a unique ‘Hearts Quilt’ top-sheet to absorb away runny poo and a wetness indicator to help new parents know when it’s time to change.
