Top tips for cleaning an overgrown back garden
It feels like you only turned your back on your garden for five minutes, and it’s been overrun with creepers, weeds and all sorts of wild flowers.

It may seem like a mission impossible - but there are some ways to clean up your jungle of a back garden without too much hassle.

1. Be prepared
Make sure you have everything you need to start your project. A few musts: gardening gloves, big yard bin bags, fertiliser, sunscreen, clippers, and shears. If you have the right supplies, you'll have no excuse but to get cleaning.

2. Plan of action
For a major project like a garden clean-up, it's a good idea to make a list of what to do first so you don't give up before you even begin. Making a plan of action will keep you on track and motivated.

3. Get weeding
This may not be the most fun part of the project, but it has to be done. Get your kids involved and perhaps give them an incentive,  like for every bag of weeds they pull, they get a treat.

4. Fertilise
After the winter, your plants and lawn will be crying out for some nutrition. Now is the time to give them a healthy dose of fertiliser to make sure they grow healthy and strong.

5. Ask for help
If you’re too busy to tackle the garden by yourself, hire a gardener. Alternatively, you may want to ask a friend for a helping hand if you can return the favour in their garden, or by rewarding them with the fruits of your labour - such as the first batch of garden-grown apples, or first rose bloom.
