Tributes have been paid to 19-year-old Jessica Moore who tragically died on the night of her debs. The teenager has been remembered as a ‘much-loved sister’.
The young woman passed away shortly after 2am after collapsing in Gullane’s Hotel in Ballinasloe, Galway.
Jessica’s friends called an ambulance when she fell ill on Monday morning but she was later pronounced dead at Portiuncula Hospital.
A death notice stated that Jessica passed away suddenly “to the inexpressible grief of her heartbroken parents Brendan and Catherine. Cherished and much-loved sister of Cian & Ali.”
"Sadly missed by her devoted grandparents Stan and Laura Moore, forever remembered by her uncles, aunts, uncles-in-law, aunts-in-law, cousins, extended family, neighbours & her many, many friends."
Her sister Ali remembered her as ‘the greatest’ and said she will never be the same without her.
Independent councillor for Loughrea Geraldine Donohoe commented: "My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this very sad time It's a terrible tragedy, the family need the time and space to come to terms with their loss."
Jessica’s funeral will take place on Thursday, August 15 at 1pm in St. Patrick’s Church, Ballaun.
