If you have kids then you are likely to have stickers stuck to every floor, every window and every door in your home. And while most of us mums would love more than anything to simply ban them from the house, kids and stickers simply go hand-in-hand!

Rather than feel your blood pressure rise every time you pass a window covered in sticky residue though, try these six tried and tested way to get it off!

1. Rub with an eraser

If it’s not too sticky simply rub it off with a pencil eraser.

2. Spray a little oil on it

Both olive oil and coconut oil work well, although they can leave windows streaky and floors slippery. Simply spray a little on and wipe off with a cloth.

3. Alcohol

Dab a little vodka onto a cloth and gently rub it over the sticky residue. Avoid using anything sweet or with bubbles as it will just make the sticker even stickier.

4. Sellotape

Wrap a strip of sellotape around your fingers with the sticky side out. Dab this gently over the sticky residue until it comes off.

5. Scrape it off

If it’s on the floor, using a knife or a bank card, simply get on your hands and knees and scrape it off.

6. Warm soapy water

Soak the area in soapy water and rub it until it comes off.

Always test on an inconspicuous area first before you use any of the above methods
