Every baby born into this world deserves a special announcement and celebration, but the incredible, coincidental details of two babies’ births have made headlines this weekend.

According to reports today, the Nathan family in Nassau, New York have plenty to celebrate, after brothers Michael and Kenneth became fathers for the first time.

Not only were their babies born on the same day, but also in the same hospital, mere hours apart - delivered by the same doctor! The news is even more amazing as the couples were initially given due dates three weeks apart.

While Kenneth and Michelle Nathan welcomed daughter Abigail at 4.37pm, Michael and Christina became parents to a son, Jackson, at 7.15pm that evening. It was baby Abigail, apparently, who arrived late, while little Jackson surprised Mum and Dad by arriving early.

Commenting on the incredible turn of events, elated dad Michael told WABC-TV that the pair were running up and down the hallway of Winthrop-University Hospital to check on each other’s wives’ progress.

“We were literally texting each other back and forth, where we were at with the whole labour process. It was cool,” an elated Michael told local media.

New mum Christina added that it was a very special experience for the family: “To have something that’s on the same day, it’s awesome, it really is.”

Congratulations to the families on their amazing news.
