America’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) have released a new graphic campaign in the hopes to persuade smokers to quit for good.
 
The ad campaign which is called –“Tips from Former Smokers” - features clips from past smokers offering their own “tips” on how to live with some of the dangerous side effects of smoking.
 
The campaign features real life stories from former smokers who are now dealing with serious health issues.
 
One example shows a former smoker and mother, Amanda who smoked during her pregnancy and gave birth to her baby two months early. Amanda’s heart wrenching tip to former smokers is to speak into the opening of the incubator, “so your baby can hear you better”.
 
The adverts don’t hold back as it features various other former smokers describing how to live with some of the graphic side effects of smoking, such as; Shawn who provide tips on how to live with a hole in your neck to Brett who has lost most of his teeth due to gum disease.
 
The adverts will be released on American television from July 7th.
