Follow these tips on how to find the right barely-there natural makeup shades and how to apply them.

Let your skin shine through
Showing some skin is key to a natural makeup look. Enhance your skin with subtle, natural-looking shades to make a big impact. Also, nude makeup has the added benefit of being very low maintenance, so even if you do make mistakes, they won’t be noticeable.

Choose complimentary tones
Nude makeup is meant to simulate your own skin tone, so make sure the shades you choose have a complementary undertone. Know whether your skin is fair (peach-based hues recommended), medium (pink pigments recommended), or dark (caramel-infused shades).
Choosing eye shadows and blushes with shimmer add dimension to nude colours. Be careful with nude as it can become unflattering when it's too opaque. It is important that it reflects the light without being too flat, dusty or chalky.

Keep it natural
It's best to start out with a moisturiser mixed with a medium-coverage foundation to even out your skin tone.
Create a flawless canvas with a radiant finish and mix it with your favourite moisturiser in equal parts. If you mix it up on the back of your hand, your body heat will help it blend. After this, apply it with a foundation brush for gorgeous, air-brushed skin, clear looking skin.

Use a primer for your eyes
Nude eye makeup is very light and without a base for the shadow, discoloration and dark spots can show through. Using a primer is recommended to bring out the colour.

Highlight
Consider a nude look that pairs a matte lip, a matte eye shadow, and a bronzer with a sheer highlighter swept on the cheekbones. Makeup should usually have a hint of shimmer, but a matte effect can definitely make an attractive impact.
Apply a highlighter to the brow bone, Cupid’s bow, and the top half of the bridge of the nose. Painting a stripe down the entire length can make a prominent nose look larger.

Nail neutrals
Nails aren't exempt from the need for nude. Find a shade that matches your hands as closely as possible. Consider using a pale nude to create an elongating effect on the fingers, making the hands look very ladylike. Apply a healthy topcoat; which will give your nails a shiny neutral look.
