For most mums-to-be, exercise during pregnancy is not only safe, it’s highly recommended. The best types of exercise during pregnancy will get your heart pumping and keep you supple. Exercising will help you to manage pregnancy weight gain and prepare muscles for labour and birth.

The Bump Room incorporates exercises from yoga, pilates and strengthening techniques for the best pregnancy exercise program. There are currently Bump Rooms in Limerick, Dublin, Clarecastle, Nenagh and Ballinasloe with more Bump Rooms growing across the country.

All classes are delivered by physiotherapists, who are members of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists. Each exercise is chosen to challenge and support women as their body changes
  • Strengthen areas prone to weakness from ligament laxity
  • Stretch areas prone to tightness from postural changes
  • Limit fluid retention
  • Helps minimise pelvic pain and joint discomfort.
  • Use of the gym ball is central to The Bump Room as it allows for movement of the pelvis in a supported way.
  • The Bump Room is a great meeting place for mums-to-be which is sociable and supportive.
  • The Bump Room guarantees that every woman leaves the classes feeling limber, relaxed and destined for a good’s night sleep.
The Bump Room are delighted and proud to have developed the Bump Room Online as an alternative for women who are unable to attend the live classes. This is a comprehensive pregnancy fitness program designed and led by physiotherapists. The classes are both safe and challenging and will support you through the different stages of pregnancy.
