Win a family ticket to The Nutcracker

Ballet Ireland are delighted to be presenting the much-loved Christmas favourite The Nutcracker again this winter, after huge success and sold-out performances last season. This ballet has delighted audiences around the world since it was first performed in 1892 with its tale of a magical family Christmas, complete with duelling mice and the Sugar Plum Fairy. Ballet Ireland’s sparkling production will be performed by sixteen top Irish and international dancers from as far afield as Japan and Australia. Following its initial run at the Gaiety Theatre (20th-23rd November) - where Tchaikovsky’s famous score will be performed live by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra conducted by David Brophy – the production will travel to Castlebar’s Royal Theatre (10th November) and The Helix Dublin (21st December).

Ballet Ireland is Ireland’s only professional ballet company, bringing new narrative-led ballets to Irish audiences each Spring and Autumn.  The company was founded in 1998, and has been funded by The Arts Council of Ireland since 1999. To date the company has mounted 26 seasons of work, and their activities, which also include summer schools and professional workshops, have had a profound impact on the landscape of ballet in Ireland.
