One woman in Texas, America has come up with a lovely way to rescue wedding gowns.

Lisa Grubbs, the founder of NICU(neonatal intensive care unit) Helping Hands, gathers old wedding dresses and along with a team of volunteer dressmakers creates special "angel gowns"  for babies, who didn't make it home from hospital.

"There's something hopeful about that start of life, about a wedding, and to me, it's that full circle. This child who is so loved by its parents, being wrapped in love by a bride.”

Lisa's husband who is a specialist for premature babies, founded the Helping Hands program in 2013 to help families who were grieving the death of a newborn child.

The gowns are provided free of charge to families and hospitals across America.

Amy Vickers who is a volunteer and nurse at the NICU Helping Hand explained why she got involved in Grubb's cause.

“Often, we would just wrap little babies just in tiny little hospital blankets or washrags or towels, and we didn't really have much to offer those families. It doesn't take the hurt away from them. But it just lets them know that we feel like their baby's life means something."
