Embark on Wonderlights ‘The Magic of Winter’ and be transported into a fairytale realm. Discover enthralling projections on the Castle and enchantment at every footstep. Meet the beloved Talking Tree, venture into the deep Arctic Oceans and explore life in the Frozen Lands as light explodes into life. Take a stroll among the Magical Flying Fairies, as you watch them dance in the night sky. Awe-inspiring displays of majestic Woodland Creatures await your admiration. With the integration of cutting-edge technology, Wonderlights offers new areas to explore, providing engaging and entertaining experiences for guests of all ages. 'The Magic of Winter' would not be complete without a visit to the Festive Lights and the Woodland Village where a selection of food vendors will offer delicious hot food, treats and winter warmers.
Curators of the highly acclaimed previous themes of ‘The Night Sky’, ‘Ireland By Night’ and ‘Castle of Light’, Wonderlights is Ireland’s only multi-sensory, 2km outdoor trail, that captures the imagination and safely transports ticket holders into a world of wonder. An international team of talented creatives have curated this year’s spectacular new show. This year, Wonderlights introduces dazzling interactive light-up wristbands which are included in each child’s ticket. Reacting to the environment, these wristbands ensure your child is an active part of the Wonderlights adventure, the perfect memento for an unforgettable experience.
Wonderlights collaborates closely with Malahide Castle's grounds team to elevate the beauty of the woodland spaces and preserve the parklands' essence. Wonderlights opts to be powered with hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO). Widely recognized as one of the most environmentally friendly fuel alternatives, HVO reduces CO2 emissions by an impressive 90%. In alignment with this commitment to sustainability, all lighting fixtures utilize the most energy-efficient bulbs currently on the market.
Wonderlights ‘The Magic of Winter’ runs from November 10th until January 2nd. Entry times are every 15 minutes from 5pm - 8pm. Tickets for this state-of-the-art sensory walk start from €22 for Adults, from €20.50 for children, from €18.50 students/ OAPs + booking fee, with infants under 2 years going free.
