A young girl has been hospitalised after she was swept out to sea on an inflatable lilo. The incident took place on Portmarnock Beach shortly after 2pm on Monday.
The five-year-old girl was saved by three teenagers who swam out to bring her back to shore.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, including Dublin Fire Brigade, Rescue 116 and the Howth RNLI.
The young girl was taken to Temple Street Children’s Hospital where she is believed to be in a stable condition.
