Actor Simon Gregson has this week revealed that his wife Emma has suffered 11 heartbreaking miscarriages.

The Coronation Street star made the revelation in a hard-hitting tweet, aimed at a cruel Twitter troll who messaged his wife.

Simon’s character Steve is currently involved in a harrowing storyline which will see him and on-screen wife Michelle lose their baby.

While Kym previously shared her own link with the story, losing son Archie minutes after his birth in 2009, Simon has this week driven home the relevance to his own experiences.

“To the **** who tweeted my wife. We’ve lost 11 babies, [the] first being 21 weeks 4 days. Maybe think or do your research before tweeting someone,” wrote Simon.

This isn’t the first time Simon has touched on his family’s experience with loss, though.

Simon and Emma welcomed their third son, Teddy, last year; but, speaking to OK! magazine, they confirmed that Teddy had had a twin who died during the pregnancy.

“We had to keep going back to the unit, but sadly only one of the twins survived. We’re very lucky to have this one,” Emma said at the time.

The couple are also parents to nine-year-old Alfie and seven-year-old Harry.
