According to E! News, the star's wife of 14 years, Coco Austin, is overjoyed to be expecting the couple's first child.
Both Coco and 57-year-old Ice-T, who has two children from a previous relationship, have been the subject of intense media scrutiny over recent years, with family and fans of the star couple clamouring to know when the pair planned to welcome a child into the life they share together.
Commenting on this, Coco previously said: "There's a lot of peer pressure for me. It's not just my family that's giving it, it's the world…When the time's right, I will."
Despite media reports suggesting otherwise, Coco always maintained a desire to become a mum and start a family with the Law & Order: SVU star, having previously explained: "I don't want to be like those 80-year-old women with no one around them. I want to have something I gave birth to early in life and be like, 'You can help me out now!"
With trademark candour, Ice-T echoed his wife's desire to welcome a child into their life, joking: "At the end of the day, it's Coco's call. She puts in the order and I can do the deed."
The couple, who wed in December 2001 and renewed their vows on their tenth anniversary, are said to be preparing their New Jersey home for the new arrival.
