Travelling with kids can be really difficult and it's stressful when something goes wrong.

This dad thought he would have to cancel his trip after a mix-up with his daughter's age.

An onlooker posted the story of how an anonymous benefactor came to his rescue to the Love What Matters Facebook page.

The dad was at the ticket desk at the airport with his little girl when the agent asked how old she was.

He said she was two and the agent asked for a ticket.

The confused father replied he didn't have one, as he thought young children could ride for free.

When he had originally booked his ticket, his daughter had only been one and qualified for a free ticket.

Unfortunately she turned two in January and no longer qualified.

The shocked dad explained that he couldn't afford to rebook this flight or get her the ticket at such short notice.

"He stepped aside and tried to make a few calls. Hugging his daughter and grabbing his head, you could tell he was heartbroken," the onlooker said.

Just when it looked like the man would have cancel his plans, something amazing happened.

A woman at the counter beside him, had heard the exchange and walked over to speak to the devastated dad.

She then went up to the agent and said: "I wanna buy her ticket."

The agent said "You know how much this ticket costs right?"

The ticket was $749 but the generous stranger wasn't fazed.

"She said 'that's fine' and pulled out her credit card. I was right there and I just said to her, 'God Bless You!' and they printed out the ticket," the amazed bystander.

The dad kept asking the lady for her name and details so he could repay her, but she said "don't worry about it."

Since the amazing story broke, several people have commented saying they know the lady and that her generous gesture didn't surprise them at all.

They haven't named her as she would prefer to remain anonymous.

We are in awe of her generosity!
