Having regained consciousness last Friday, former LA Lakers star, Lamar Odom, has reportedly been discharged from the Nevada hospital to which he was admitted having collapsed in a Las Vegas brothel recently.

The dad-of-three, whose progress has been documented extensively from media outlets around the globe, has reportedly been transferred to a hospital in LA - a plan which was proposed by his estranged wife Khloé Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner.

With Khloé by his side, the 6 foot 10 inch basketball star made his way to a medical centre in Southern California last night following remarkable progress over the past week.

The star, who regained consciousness after 72 hours in a coma, passed numerous tests which allowed doctors in Nevada to permit his transferral to an LA hospital.

While the 35-year-old sports star's progress has been steady, the Odom and Kardashian families have been warned that there is a long road ahead for the much-loved basketball player.

Commenting on Lamar's journey thus far, a source told Us magazine: "He's still getting better little by little."

"The doctors are starting to talk about plans for what happens when he gets out and that's how rehab came up, but he still has a ways to go," they confirmed.

The Kardashian family, who have appealed to the public for prayers since Lamar's hospitalisation, are relieved that their plan to organise medical care for Lamar in LA has come to fruition, with an insider revealing that the go-ahead from Nevada doctors means they "can all be closer to him."

Our thoughts continue to stay with Lamar as he progresses.
