Coronation St. actress, Kym Marsh, has been criticised by health charity, Ash, for smoking with her 16 year-old daughter, Emily.

Emily and Kym were spotted both having a cigarette outside a nightclub in Manchester last month.

A spokesperson for Ash, Deborah Arnott, said: “It really is sad to see a 16 year-old smoking, as starting at such a young age can lead to a lifelong addiction and premature death from cancers, lung diseases, heart attacks and strokes.”

Deborah continued on to say: “Most parents don’t want their children to become smokers and they need to know that if they smoke their children are up to three times more likely to become smokers themselves.”

Under UK law, you must be 18 years-old to purchase cigarettes.
