With Photoshop now pretty much ruling when it comes to celebrity and fashion photography, it is refreshing to see someone bucking the trend and stating a case for natural beauty.

This weekend, that person is supermodel Cindy Crawford, who has come in for high praise over an unretouched magazine photo of her posing in her underwear.

The mother-of-two posed for a photoshoot for Marie Claire magazine’s December 2013 issue, for the Mexico/ Latin American issue, and was 47 at the time.

Over a year later, ITV news anchor Charlene White came upon the image, showing an un-Photoshopped and unretouched Cindy’s natural beauty, and decided to share it with her followers on Twitter.

Sharing the post to her Twitter page, White wrote: “Cindy Crawford’s April spread in Marie Claire features 100% non-retouched photos. Take a bow Ms. C.”

The picture has since gone viral, with social media users praising the star for sharing a real glimpse into natural beauty.

TV personality Jenny Hutt was quick to salute Cindy over the image, tweeting: “Supermodel @CindyCrawford is always doing right for women & children. Her recent untouched pictures are a gift to moms and teens everywhere.”

In an age where body image is such a huge issue for people of all ages, this is wonderfully refreshing to see.
