We have yet more sad news to share with you this week, as it has been confirmed today that legendary actor Alan Rickman has passed away.
The news was shared today by the much-loved actor’s family, who revealed that he passed away after a battle with cancer. He was 69 years of age.
A star of such popular films as Die Hard, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and, of course, the Harry Potter series, Rickman was one of the most successful British actors of our time.
He was also lauded by critics and professionals alike, winning many coveted awards during his prestigious career, among them a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
The talented star is survived by his long-term partner and wife of three years, Rima Horton.
Tributes are already pouring in for Rickman, who has been hailed as a ‘legend’ and a ‘childhood hero’ by Twitter users.
