It looks like Kim Kardashian's recent trip to Armenia to mark the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide will now be remembered for another significant reason in personal family history.

Having arrived in her family's native country last week, Kim and husband Kanye flew from a tour of the region, which lies outside Turkey, to baptise North at a short ceremony in a 12th century Armenian church in Jerusalem yesterday.

Little North, who will turn two in June, was welcomed into the Armenian Apostolic Church at the Cathedral of St. James while her proud parents looked on and a crowd of curious fans and onlookers congregated outside the building, eager to catch a glimpse of the famous family.

While North's godfather has yet to be revealed, her aunt Khloé performed godmother duties during the ceremony, an event which was described as both 'epic' and 'beautiful' by a source close to the family.

Clad in white and gold, North's happy parents and her proud godmother celebrated the little girl's big day by dining with the mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat, before moving on to visit the city of Jordan.

It sounds like it was a beautiful occasion for North and her proud family.
