Many mums love to share pictures of their family life and little ones on social media, however, one mum had a bad experience recently when an internet troll called her son, who has Down's Syndrome, "ugly".
Megan Mennes shared an absolutely adorable photo of her son, Quinn, on her Instagram account when the cruel comment appeared, much to the young mum's horror.
Megan has been blogging about her son's disability for a while now, and it seems she knew that the internet trolls would one day lift their heads, it was just a matter of time.
The brave mum hit back at the troll in the best way, she wrote an open letter on her blog where she shared her feelings on the incident: "Since I started blogging about my son Quinn, and his disability, I knew this day would come ... I don't want to make assumptions about you, but I can guess from your immaturity and ignorance that you know little about the helplessness that parents feel when caring for a sick infant with respiratory issues ... Go outside. Read a book. Compliment someone. Most importantly, enlighten yourself; there's already enough cruelty in this world and anyone worth their salt should be striving to make this place better, not worse. I simply hope my own children learn to look past ignorant comments and actions and treat others with respect and dignity. We all deserve it, even you. Sincerely, A Proud Mama".
