There are mums all over the world who swear by eating their placenta, crediting it with staving off postnatal depression and helping with post-birth recovery.

Clearly, WAG Rebekah Vardy is sold on the idea, as she took to Instagram today to reveal that she will be trying it out herself this month.

The 34-year-old, who welcomed her fourth child this week, posted a photo of her dried placenta alongside a bottle of pills created from the pregnancy organ.

“Let’s do this, then!” she wrote, alongside the image.

Rebekah, who is married to Leicester footballer Jamie Vardy, is also mum to 11-year-old Megan, six-year-old Taylor and 22-month-old Sofia. She welcomed her newborn son two days ago, two weeks early.

While the mum-of-four is clearly excited to be trying out the placenta pills, not all of her Instagram followers are quite as impressed.

Let's do this then! Thanks so much @placentaplus #roadtorecovery

“No, you’re not going to eat that, are you? What do you do – sprinkling of salt and pepper?” one follower joked in the comment section.

Another chimed in: “You are nuts, babe! But I’m sure it’s good for you – enjoy.”

Rebekah isn’t the only celeb to try this interesting practice. Singer Natasha Hamilton and reality star Blac Chyna have previously raved about the benefits of eating their placenta.

What do you think? Would you follow suit?
