With all eyes having been on Kate Middleton and her beautiful new arrival, Princess Charlotte, over the past seven days, you'd be forgiven for thinking that Prince William's baby daughter was the only new royal arrival in recent months!

Today's momentous occasion in Monaco, however, will remind the world that we also welcomed beautiful royal siblings, Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques, at the end of last year.

And today, exactly five months since their highly-anticipated arrival, the two children have been christened in the Monaco Cathedral under the doting eyes of proud parents, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene.

Gathering together at 10.30 this morning in honour of the new arrivals, Prince Albert's family and his 37-year-old wife's, the Wittstocks, celebrated the newest members of Monaco's ruling family.

Commenting on this morning's happy occasion, which has made history by being the first to be broadcast live on television, a source told People magazine: "The day is being planned as a family celebration. The prince's family, including Princess Caroline, Princess Stephanie, the Wittstocks and their families will be out in force."

Taking part in festivities will be a number of traditional Monegasque and Provencal folk and dance groups, who have been hired to line the route of the royal procession, and will celebrate the twin's arrival with a variety of much-loved and well-known routines.

Eager to acknowledge well-wishers, 57-year-old Prince Albert II is planning to walk back through the enthusiastic crowds in Monaco following the historical ceremony, with a source saying: "Monaco is a family of 8,000 people, and this is an opportunity to celebrate that."

Wishing the royal family the happiest of days today!
