Singer Ne-Yo has confirmed that he is, indeed, expecting his first child with partner Crystal Renay. However, he dispelled rumours that he is already married, admitting that the couple actually just got engaged.
“Clearing the air…Crystal Renay and I are ENGAGED to be married next year. And yes, we are expecting,” wrote the 35-year-old, adding in the hashtag ‘from the horse’s mouth’.
The singer, real name Shaffer Smith, surprised his fans and followers earlier this week when he shared a photo of Crystal holding up a picture of the pair in an embrace. The caption simply read, “Surprise!”
However, it was Crystal’s best friend, Angelica, who suggested that the couple have a baby on the way, uploading the original shot with the caption: “Screaming congratulations on the wedding and the baby bundle to my favourite couple and best friends.”

While this will be the first child for the couple, Ne-Yo is already dad to Madilyn Grace; his daughter from his relationship with Monyetta Shaw. The star is also caught up in a legal case with ex-girlfriend Jessica White, who falsely claimed that he was the father of her son, Chimere.
