From Ian H Watkins to James Hooton, it certainly has been a busy week for celebrity baby news, and we are thrilled to congratulate yet another star on the arrival of a little bundle of joy.

We’re sending huge congratulations today to Coronation Street actor Simon Gregson, who has welcomed his third child with wife Emma Gleave.

The 41-year-old actor took to his social media channels to announce the wonderful news today, confirming that Emma had given birth to a son.

Simon, best known for playing the character of Steve MacDonald on the well-loved soap, tweeted: “After talking to a belly for nine months, I can now talk to a beautiful little face and know it’s not Mr Hanky. Myself and Emma are thrilled.”

He went on to express his gratitude to the staff who helped Emma during her labour, adding: “I cannot praise and thank everyone at Wythenshawe Hospital enough - although unbelievably busy, brilliant and lovely. The best.”

Simon and Emma announced their pregnancy back in the summer. In an interview with OK! magazine in August, they went on to confirm that they had been expecting twins, but sadly one of the babies passed away.

The couple are also parents to seven-year-old Alfie and four-year-old Harry.

Congratulations to the family on their wonderful news.
