Dan, who recently welcomed his second child, was widely criticised and subsequently fired from TOWIE after a recording of him allegedly threatening his son’s mother, Megan Tomlin, emerged.
This week, the former reality star has decided to speak out, speaking exclusively to now! magazine about the drama.
Defending himself during the emotional tell-all, Dan said: “I’m the least thuggish person…when I was told things that suggested another man would bring [my son] up and call him “dad” I believed them…it was the worst time of my life, I was in a very dark place.”
Admitting that he is “disgusted” with himself after hearing his violent threats played back, Dan said that he is looking forward to putting the incident behind him and focusing on being a good dad to one-year-old son Teddy and three-month-old daughter Ella Selina.
“I just want us to all get on with our lives. The tapes are almost a year old, some people think this only happened recently but it didn’t and we’ve dealt with this privately. Megan is happy and has a new boyfriend and I’m with Jacqueline – it’s all in the past for us,” he added.
Let’s hope that this is, indeed, the case and matters have been resolved for everyone involved.
