There's no doubt that this year's Celebrity Big Brother was undoubtedly one of the most intense yet, and by pitting the UK against the US, sparks were bound to fly.

According to former housemate, Natasha Hamilton, the experience felt as intense as it looked on-screen, but it seems the Liverpool-native had a little trick up her sleeve in order to deal with the mounting tension.

Opening up about her time in the infamous reality television house, the mum-of-four acknowledged that there was no comparison between being a viewer and being a housemate.

"I've watched the show for years and I used to think 'Why are they crying over nothing?' But it's like a pressure cooker in there. One person's problem is everyone's problem," she explained while making an appearance at the Specsavers' Spectacle Wearer of the Year Awards.

Natasha, whose relationship with Teen Mom star, Farrah Abrahams got off to a rocky start and steadily declined throughout their time together, insists the programme gave her a fresh perspective.

"Getting back to normal life has been wonderful. It just makes you appreciate what you've got so much because it was intense," explained the 33-year-old former Atomic Kitten member,

Natasha credits her experience as a parent for helping her to maintain her composure at certain points in the show, but admits even she has her limits.

"Over the past thirteen years being a mum and having to be level-headed, think before I speak... there was times that I snapped in there. But I was pushed and pushed."

The singer, who is mum to Josh, Harry, Alfie and Ella Rose, has seamlessly slipped back into normal family, saying: "It's [her time on the show] almost like it never really happened."
