Following reports that children and young adults had been left with facial injuries as a result of the online' Kylie Jenner Challenge' currently sweeping social media pages, the 17-year-old reality TV star decided to speak up.

Taking to Twitter to voice her concerns and clarify her stance on the  matter, the youngest member of the Kardashian/ Jenner clan wrote: "I'm not here to try and encourage people/ young girls to look like me or to think this is the way they should look."

With children and teenagers using a variety of household items in a bid to plump up their lips and achieve the same look which had Kylie hitting the headlines in recent months, a number of them have sustained multiple facial injuries in the course of their endeavour.

Taking to social media to provide photos of their attempts to achieve Kylie's plump pout, many teens have lamented the fact they took part in the online challenge, with one Twitter user writing: "Made my chin look like a hickey a week ago and I'll say I've never felt so dumb #kyliejennerchallenge."

Hoping to make her position on the controversy clear, Kim's younger sister said: "I want to encourage people/ young girls like me to be yourself and not be afraid to experiment with your look."

Commenting on the outcry, a source close to Kris and Bruce's daughter said: "She had no idea some people would go to these very dangerous lengths in an attempt to make their lips fuller. She wants it to stop and believes all beauty comes from within."

We hope Kylie's discussion of the matter will dissuade any other young people from taking up the challenge.
