Star reveals inspiring reason behind that Instagram photo

Her Instagram account is usually reserved for sweet family moments with her three-year-old son, Luca, which is why actress and singer Hilary Duff sent her fans into a tizzy recently with a candid bikini shot.

The reason behind the 27-year-old’s decision to post the shot, however, is nothing short of beautiful and inspiring.

Opening up on the topic during her appearance this week on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the star stated her motivation behind taking the shot as celebrating her body and inspiring mums everywhere.

Revealing that she has a ‘love-hate relationship’ with her body, Hilary admitted: “I was on a trip with my son, and it’s been three years since I had him. I’m just so proud of my body and what it’s done for me. It gave me the most beautiful little boy. I feel strong and powerful – and I wanted to inspire other woman.”

Hilary’s appearance comes just a week after she celebrated Luca’s birthday, taking to her social media channels to share an adorable video montage of some of their fondest family memories.
