Sadly, there has been quite a spate of these stories in recent times, and another tiny tot’s plight has made the headlines around the world this weekend.

A newborn baby’s life has been saved after a group of strangers found it ‘dumped’ in a rubbish bag in a bin, in the Philippines.

The child (the gender has not yet been confirmed) reportedly still had its umbilical cord and placenta attached when a group of men and women made the shocking discovery.

Footage released by a by-stander shows that the group were at first surprised to see the child alive. A woman is then seen putting on gloves and picking the baby up, before taking it to hospital.

No updates on the child’s condition have been released as of yet, but we will keep you updated as soon as there is more information.

This is the second such story to reach the media in recent times. Earlier this year, Spanish police came to the rescue of a baby who had been placed inside a public rubbish bin by its mother. The woman was arrested, and her three other children were put into the care of their father.

We’re sending our love and thoughts to this child.
