Just yesterday, we posted a story detailing how a policeman and his wife came to the rescue of a baby who had been left inside a hot car; now, today, authorities in Spain have come to the aid of another vulnerable tot.
According to reports, two members of the Spanish Civil Guard rescued a baby who had been ‘dumped’ inside a rubbish container near Madrid.
The officers were alerted to the incident in the early hours of this morning, after a dog-walker reported hearing a baby’s cries from inside an underground rubbish container in the town of Mejorada del Campo.
Officers Carlos and Andres, along with a team of firemen, responded to the call, and the containers were opened up to reveal a tiny baby inside of a backpack.

The tot was brought straight to a nearby hospital in the officers’ patrol car, and doctors are currently assessing the child’s condition.
The official Twitter account for the Civil Guard posted a photo of officers Carlos and Andres holding the child, with the caption reading: “Happy Wednesday for Carlos and Andres, two Guardia Civil officers who have rescued this baby from a rubbish container in Madrid.”
Our hearts go out to the little one.
