We have heard of photographers photoshopping late loved ones into family photos, with stunning results, but the magic of the following story is that it all happened completely by chance.

Louisiana photographer Megan Rion was recently doing a woodland photoshoot for newborn baby Conner, when an unexpected guest turned up to complete the image.

Rion had popped behind the camera to take the shot, having set little Conner up on a bale of hay, when an inquisitive deer popped in to scope the scene!

Apparently, Maggie the Deer is a frequent visitor when Rion shoots in this location, and she is a gentle but nosey creature!

“She shows up for five to 15 minutes then strolls on her way. There are other deer that come up with her, but none will get as close as Maggie will,” Rion told local media.

Rion saw an amazing opportunity when Maggie walked onto the set, and after getting her assistant to coax the deer’s attention in the right direction (using a sheaf of corn), the photographer captured the incredible image above.

“I got a couple shots then we were done. Maggie then walked off. Maggie has been in several photoshoots before, so really it was not out of the ordinary, but it was pretty amazing she did show up that day. You can tell it’s Maggie in each and every picture because of the notch in her ear,” Rion added.

Since uploading the image to her official Facebook page, Rion has seen the image go viral around the world.
