The Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations are in full swing this week, and family is most certainly the focus of the festivities.

Just a day after the release of a new set of stamp images marking the momentous event, a new portrait of Her Majesty surrounded by her youngest grandchildren and great-grandchildren has been released.

Captured by acclaimed photographer Annie Leibovitz, the image shows the Queen cuddled up to Princess Charlotte, with big brother George looking cherubic beside his ‘Gan-Gan’.

Meanwhile, adorable little Mia Tindall, daughter of Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall, is seen holding up the Queen’s iconic Launer handbag – a move that, according to onlookers, was completely unplanned.

Also pictured are James and Louise, the children of Prince Edward and Countess Sophie; and Savannah and Isla Phillips, the grandchildren of Princess Anne.

Released through the British Monarchy’s official Twitter account, the photo has delighted people all over the world.

And it seems little Miss Mia has captured hearts, with one Twitter user commenting: “I love the lil’ nugget who stole Granny’s handbag. She’s stealing the show!”

What a gorgeous way to mark the occasion.
