It has been an exciting time for her lately, having tied the knot with her partner last year, and now there is yet more lovely news for Today FM producer Mairead Ronan.

The much-loved radio star has confirmed this morning that she is expecting her second child, with her husband Louis.

It was presenter Ian Dempsey who set tongues wagging earlier today, tweeting his fans with a references to Mairead’s appearance on RTÉ’s Big Week On The Farm last night.

“Did you catch On The Farm last night? Mairead didn’t just eat too much choccie over Easter, she’s got a bit of news. Congratulations,” wrote the presenter, adding in a baby face emoji.

Mairead is already mum to nine-year-old Dara, her son from her previous marriage.

Mairead wed husband Louis in June of last year, and has previously credited him with ‘healing her heart’.

In an interview with the Independent, she explained how their romance unfolded: “We kept bumping into each other, and he sent me a lovely Facebook message. He asked me out, and for a long time, we just met for coffee and dinner. After a year with Louis, I knew he was really special and I wanted to get married again. He's a complete old-school gentleman, very handsome and kind, and he healed my heart."

Congratulations to Mairead and the family on the lovely news.
